I know there are many videos of this song already, but i noticed nobody had translated or even transcribed it, so i took the liberty of doing so.
The original text is written in Garganico, a dialect from southern Italy, so tell me if i made any mistake ; )
[English]
The term Tarantella groups a number of different Italian couple folk dances characterized by a fast upbeat tempo, usually in 6/8 time (sometimes 18/8 or 4/4), accompanied by tambourines. It is among the most recognized of traditional Italian music. The specific dance name varies with every region, for instance tammuriata in Campania, pizzica in the Salento region.

Taking home
There is a storyline of the world and there is also a trajectory of the soul. The soul presents a self into this world through a body, into situations which will provide an opportunity to experiment with creativity and its consequences, enhance its learning, and express itself in myriad ways. The world provides the opportunities. It is hard not to be discouraged when we see things happening in the opposite fashion to that which we hold right and wholesome inside. In the end what we take ‘home’ with us is not our misfortune, though that has its effect, but how we dealt with the decisions we made, the lives we believe we squandered, the time we believe we lost and the way in which we allowed others to hold sway over us.— Be Happy Anyway by Elisa Novick
Over and over the message is: you are love, you are the Beloved.

Ciaccona del Paradiso e del Inferno
O che bel stare è stare in Paradiso
Dove si vive sempre in fest’e riso
Vedendosi di Dio svelato il viso
O che bel stare è star in Paradiso.
Ohimè che orribil star qui nell’inferno
Ove si vive in pianto e foco eterno
Senza veder mai Dio in sempiterno
E pieno d’ogni male tu sarai
Dispera tu d’uscirne mai, mai, mai!
O che bel stare è star in Paradiso
Dove si vive sempr’in fest’e riso
Vedendosi di Dio svelato il viso
O che bel stare é stare in Paradiso.

Hallelujah ~ Jeff Buckley
Hallelujah
Leonard Cohen ~ version Jeff Buckley
I heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well, it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth,
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Well, your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne and she cut your hair
But from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Baby, I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor (you know/yes)
I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a/some victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Well, there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too?
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody/at some one who outdrew you
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...
Hallelujah... Hallelujah...

Mars energies
From M. Kelley Hunter's Cosmic News: Balancing Act newsletter:
"One is from James Kelleher (www.jameskelleher.com). This is actually an extract from some of his commentary on a major factor of the last Full Moon. I share it because it struck me as so significant a moment, when MARS ON THE NORTH NODE IN SCORPIO signaled a strong energy current of intensity and transformation that set a tone:
"Mars is the planet of assertiveness, energy, and ambition on the positive side. On the negative level, it represents anger, warfare, injuries and enemies.
Rahu is the planet of compulsion and obsession on the negative side. On the positive side it represents innovation, revolution and change."
Mars is now in Sagittarius, directing the energy like a long distance runner. But that powerful Scorpio moment is worth noting, as we are contending with major Scorpio themes with Saturn and the North Node there."

Ain’t No Ash Will Burn :: Walt Aldridge
I have seen snow that fell in May
And I have seen rain on cloudless days
Some things are always bound to change
There ain’t no ash will burn
Love is a precious thing I’m told
Burns just like West Virginia coal
But when the fire dies down it’s cold
There ain’t no ash will burn
You say this life is not your lot
And I can’t be something that I’m not
We can’t stoke a fire that we ain’t got
There ain’t no ash will burn
Love is a precious thing I’m told
Burns just like West Virginia coal
But when the fire dies down it’s cold
There ain’t no ash will burn
In every life there comes a time
When there are no more tears to cry
You must leave something dear behind
There ain’t no ash will burn

Gone, Gone
Grey Revell ~ Crazy Like An Ambush
run run screaming at the sun
couldn't've done better if i won it in the lottery
run run faster than a gun
gonna find my baby and i'm gonna have a family
run run till the running's done
gonna play guitar and make money off her pottery
fun fun underneath the sun
we're gonna have a baby and we're gonna raise it right
gone gone every thing is gone
maybe now i'll find someone i love and have a family
dumb dumb everyone was dumb
slaving for a dollar in the name of nationality
bomb bomb thank you for the bomb
you vaporize the idiots you send 'em to infinity
run run till the running's done
i'm gonna find my baby and I'm gonna treat her right
gone gone every thing is gone
couldn't've done better if i won it in the lottery
run run till the running's done
i'm gonna play guitar and make money off her pottery
bomb bomb thank you for the bomb
you vaporize the idiots you send 'em to infinity
run run screaming at the sun:

Ceres Trigger
"The Sabian symbol for the first degree of Cancer suggests that
paradigm-shift around food is inevitable. The question is, with
everything else trying to get our attention right now, will something as
basic as food be able to cut through the static?
The Sabian symbols are part of a channeled system famously interpreted by Dane Rudhyar in his book An Astrological Mandala. There is a symbol for each degree of the zodiac. The one for 01 Cancer is: “On a ship the sailors lower an old flag and raise a new one.” Rudhyar adds the keynote, “A radical change of allegiance exteriorized in a symbolical act: a point of no return.”
If that doesn’t say ‘paradigm shift’, I don’t know what does. Any idea what sort of “symbolical act” you may choose tomorrow? Perhaps you will know it only as you do it — or in hindsight, as you look back and realize what some seemingly small choice actually set in motion.
Incidentally, when Ceres enters Cancer it will trine Neptune, which is currently retrograde in the first degree of Pisces. A trine is a flowing aspect of signs with the same element. Neptune’s conversation with Ceres tomorrow could be about the creative ways we can solve our personal and collective food challenges. It could lend a sense of spiritual support or importance to Ceres on the Aries Point. It may, on the other hand, help those of us not quite ready to face facts slide back into denial about just how capable we are of releasing old food habits and beliefs about what nourishes us."

Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence
Madison Square Garden, NYC - 2009/10/29&30
Live in Central Park, 1981
"The Sound of Silence was written in February 1964 by Paul Simon and originally recorded as an acoustic piece for the first Simon and Garfunkel album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. released October 19, 1964 by Columbia records. It was later overdubbed with electric guitar (played by Al Gorgoni), electric bass (Bob Bushnell), and drums (Bobby Gregg), and released as a single in September 1965, resulting in Simon and Garfunkel's first hit. The version presented here is the original acoustic one."

Disappointment. Strength. Re/Birth.
The Empress understands that every rebirth follows on the heels of an ending. What you are being invited to consider is the ending of a form of Disappointment that came into being when you chose to cut yourself off from the flow of your emotions, and in the process to separate yourself from love in its highest incarnation. You are being transformed in the fires of the Nine of Wands. It is time to face the fear that led you to empty yourself out — where you ran dry — and see what lies past the cycle of withholding and withdrawing, of hardened shine without the depth and which feeds nothing.
— Sarah Taylor, The Weekend Tarot Reading — Sunday, September 2, 2012 "Disappointment. Strength. Re/Birth."

Pruning
As Neal Donald Walsch tells us: “Always remember: Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” If we’re profoundly uncomfortable, we’re in exactly the right place. And here’s the metaphysics: the fastest, most enduring way to become a master of our own “stuff,” is to carry it with us through the meat grinder. We are guaranteed to lay it down somewhere on the journey. The quickest way to learn empathy and compassion is to face our own fears, climb across the debris of our mistakes, coming to the self-forgiveness required to regain our balance as a conscious human. And yes, the shortest route to growth is to endure the pruning away of what is no longer useful. That is not easy to do, but it’s required, as Anaïs Nin reminded us when she said, “And the day came when the risk to stay tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Cancer New Moon
New Moons represent a new cycle, and if you’re involved in a self-awareness or growth endeavor that fits this basic description, the next few days provide a space to go deeper into self-understanding. The message of this event seems to be: emotional healing arrives with self-forgiveness, as well as the personal choice to alter a negative cycle. When you heal, you also take yourself out of the “pass it forward” game that so often attends matters of abuse, and start spreading the positive vibes of self-acceptance.

Spellbound I am, I am
The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me
Spellbound deep in my soul, in my soul

Spellbound in my heart's root, my heart's root
My eyes gaze spellbound to where the wizard stood"

X-FLARE! Big sunspot AR1520 unleashed an X1.4-class solar flare on July 12th. Because the sunspot is directly facing Earth, everything about the blast was geoeffective. For one thing, it hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) directly toward our planet. According to a forecast track prepared by analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the CME will hit Earth on July 14th around 10:20 UT (+/- 7 hours) and could spark strong geomagnetic storms. Sky watchers should be alert for auroras this weekend. Geomagnetic storm alerts: text, voice.
The explosion also strobed Earth with a pulse of extreme UV radiation, shown here in a movie recorded by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory:
The UV pulse partially ionized Earth's upper atmosphere, disturbing the normal propagation of radio signals around the planet. Monitoring stations in Norway, Ireland and Italy recorded the sudden ionospheric disturbance.
Finally, solar protons accelerated by the blast are swarming around Earth. The radiation storm, in progress, ranks "S1" on NOAA space weather scales, which means it poses no serious threat to satellites or astronauts. This could change if the storm continues to intensify. Stay tuned.

Ah, that boson!
Whether "God "or "God-d___" particle, an amazing moment and a beautiful mandala!
Ah, the God Particle. There are two important things to consider here. Remember this search resulted in the propagation of ultra-paranoid conspiracy theories that the activation of the Large Hadron Collider would somehow manufacture mini black holes and the Earth split apart or be devoured. The point being: another theory of fear-based projection bites the dust. Second, there is no religious implication to the naming of this enigmatic subatomic thingamabob. The actual name comes from a proposed title for a book by Leon Lederman, who suggested the particle should be called the “god damn particle” because no one can find the gd thing. Publishers rejected his offensive title and soon thereafter, the media grabbed onto the God Particle label and ran with it. Physicists, including Higgs - a devout atheist - despise the moniker. So as physicists search for the how and why of the Big Bang, no surge in religious enthusiasm should be construed to be accompanying this discovery nor for any of the subsequent revelations. After all, the fact that the big bang took place whatever conjectured millions, billions, trillions of years ago remains inconvenient to the Biblical assessments of the age of Creation.— Philip Sedgwic, Celestial Cattywumpus ~ 5 July 2012 newsletter

Sun Flaring
"ALMOST X-FLARE: Big sunspot AR1515 erupted on July 2nd at 10:52 UT, producing an M5.6-class solar flare that almost crossed the threshold into X-territory. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash:
...
...
A pulse of x-rays and UV radiation from the flare illuminated Earth's upper atmosphere, producing waves of ionization over Europe. Such waves alter the propagation of low-frequency radio transmissions. In Lofoten, Norway, Rob Stammes recorded the ionospheric disturbance using a 60 kHz receiver: data.
The eruption also hurled a CME into space, but not directly toward Earth. The south-traveling cloud could deliver a glancing blow to our planet's magnetosphere on July 4th or 5th. Stay tuned for updates. [SDO movie]"

Ríu Ríu Chíu
I first heard it many years ago on my beloved cassette (cassettes! that many years!) by The Waverly Consort.
No youtube for them, but this, different, does well.

Little People
A grandchild, the first for both families, should be premiering in October!
Son³ and BelleFille³ are ecstatic!
A cute image of "Things in Store" brought by a friend on Fb, and then, with a little research, from the original site.
It started out as Kamasutra para Pápas; the original, but much less funny, Baby Sleeping Positions.

Color the Grey
Just back from trip Across The Big Pond.
Had me all sorts of weather: cold, cold & rainy, freezin' cold (for me) & rainy, warm & sunny, hot...
Got back — grey, rainy and cold weather.
And caught a cold.
So feeling rather grey and cold myself, and remembering all those grey days with grey-to-ish buildings makes me appreciate all the more these photos.

Vesta Visit
... and a funny comment from the Youtube page:
This is why we have nothing to fear from AI robots. Why would you sit around on Earth farming humans when you could spend your thousands-of-years lifespan watching youtube? I mean, soaring through space? crewnumber169
Celebrating
Each positive happening resonates powerful ripples in our collective pond. Look for things to celebrate. Ignore what isn’t loving and replace it with your own good thoughts and activity. Make the choices that will keep your feet firmly on your path. Many of us were motivated in recent years by anger, pressing us forward as a response to outrage and frustration, but anger is a catalyst, not a life path. Perpetual anger distorts our judgment. It’s yet another hole in which we can find temporary comfort, but no future for ourselves or our world. No, it’s not anger that will blast us out of pattern. It’s self-love, self-understanding, compassion and grace.Judith Gayle — Choosing Another Street
Walking Down Another Street
There’s A Hole In My Sidewalkfrom Judith Gayle — Choosing Another Street
Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
by Portia Nelson
I.
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost … I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
II.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
III.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit … but,
my eyes are open,
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
IV.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
V.
I walk down another street.

Heart Generator
The human Heart is now documented as the strongest generator of both electrical and magnetic fields in the body. Important, because we've always been taught that the brain is where all of the action is. While the brain does have an electrical & a magnetic field, they are both relatively weak compared to the Heart. The Heart is about 100,000 times stronger electrically & up to 5,000 times stronger magnetically than the brain. Important, because the physical world - as we know it - is made of those 2 fields: electrical & magnetic fields of Energy. Physics now tells us that if we can change either the magnetic field or the electrical field of the atom, we literally change that atom and its elements within our body and this world. The human Heart is designed to do BOTH.

Doing
Came across this researching the web:
"... a (supposedly) Confucian quote "What I hear I forget. What I see I remember. What I do I understand."
Whether Confucious or whoever, very good advice!

Time in our hands
Dalai Lama
Every one of us is getting older, which is a natural process. Time is constantly moving on, second by second. Nothing can stop it, but what we can do is use our time properly; that is in our hands. Whether we believe in a spiritual tradition or not, we need to use our time meaningfully. If over days, weeks, months and years, we have used our time in a meaningful way – when our last day comes, we'll be happy, we'll have no regrets.

Heart awakening
It’s time to dream big dreams, tap our heart knowledge and flood this planet with a new vibration of love and healing. As Jung told us, “Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” Don’t be afraid to enter heart-space, don’t be afraid to find what’s written there. It’s time to come awake.from Judith Gayle — Heart-Space: Finding The Answers

Dancing
"Working with Ur-Plu is not quite about giving up control; rather we need to work with subtler levels of influence, and dance with the energy."

Anger & Fear
Dalai Lama:
The first drawback of anger is that it destroys your inner peace; the second is that it distorts your view of reality. If you think about this and come to understand that anger is really unhelpful, that it is only destructive, you can begin to distance yourself from anger.

Love
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Mineiro
This a photo from a pousada — ± bed-and-breakfast, or little hotel — site.
I haven't been there (although, I wish!) but it's so typical of our dream mineiro breakfast or afternoon lanche, that I just had to post it! Quitutes, juices, fruit, bread and a good fogão a lenha.

Ooops!
This from the web (of course!), but I didn't write down the complete site name, and now I'm not sure from which Pousada it is — the name I had doesn't have this photo on its site! Oh dear!
I have it as a pousada in Tiradentes, MG. As soon as I find the it (I hope!) I'll put the link.
Update: Mystery solved - it's from their Facebook! Here's the link: Pousada da Terra

Sand and sugar

Note: Looking for some ant, sugar, sand images to enliven this quote, I came across the images of these rainbow colored ants. Sugar, ants, no sand, though — but oh, so colorful!
I then, going to the original link, found that the photos were taken by a Dr Babu, from Mysore, in South India... The same country, and subject matter pertaining to, as the author of the book the quote is from.

The Dance
"Add to the need for clarification, another pattern focusing into exactness seven days into April. Neptune, planet of inspiration, unlimited creativity (a venture now shared with Haumea), spirituality, photographic and videographic aspirations, moves into opposition with Orcus, the other Pluto. Now Neptune can also refer to more insidious things, but for our purposes let’s only consider the addiction to emotional intensity. Now in Pisces, the thirst of Neptune for drama in the reactionary theater of life is huge. Orcus, an underworld ruler, maintains a very specific charge in overseeing oaths, promises, contracts and agreements.
...
But back to personal stuff we care about... this pattern surfaces the “you said you would,” “you promised,” and most insidious and complicating, “you knew what I meant.” Under the present patterns, most like that last factor is a very huge assumption.
Bottom line, you cannot hold people to things they didn’t promise, imply, suggest or agree to support. You cannot hold people to being there for you, ringing your bell, stirring your pot, being an unfailing ear or meeting your needs, if your needs (or those dastardly wants) have never been articulated."

About belonging/owning
"— Lembre-se de que você a ninguém pertence e que ninguém lhe pertence. Reflita que algum dia terá subitamente que abandonar tudo neste mundo: portanto, estabeleça contato com Deus agora — dizia o grande guru [Lahiri Mahasaya] a seus discípulos." p355

Seaside - Pisces
"Though they may not know it (or think of it that way), everyone likes the feeling of Pisces — whether it comes in the form of an erotic pleasure, visiting the seaside, film, music, photography, artwork, cannabis or a few drinks. Pisces in its most life-affirming expression is the sign of the finer things, most of which cannot be paid for — they are the result of human love. It takes more than paint to make a painting, and an open heart to appreciate the pleasure of the ocean."
from Planet Waves, today
Turned on the comp, got on the web... and came across the above. It is so apt, as just came back from a marvelous week at the seaside!

Earth tripping
From APOD today:
Flying Over the Earth at Night

Explanation: Many wonders are visible when flying over the Earth at night. A compilation of such visual spectacles was captured recently from the International Space Station (ISS) and set to rousing music. Passing below are white clouds, orange city lights, lightning flashes in thunderstorms, and dark blue seas. On the horizon is the golden haze of Earth's thin atmosphere, frequently decorated by dancing auroras as the video progresses. The green parts of auroras typically remain below the space station, but the station flies right through the red and purple auroral peaks. Solar panels of the ISS are seen around the frame edges. The ominous wave of approaching brightness at the end of each sequence is just the dawn of the sunlit half of Earth, a dawn that occurs every 90 minutes.
