"Pongáio" was the name my Aunt Mona gave to a long, green, cool room where we gathered at her home —
replete with comfy chairs, a rocker, sewing machine, sewing goods, beautiful beads, shelves, books, bibelots, photographs, odds'n'ends, mementos of a life, treasures —
a gathering of all the useful & 'useless' things that so make life a pleasure.

Love InSight

"As pessoas dizem que o amor é cego
porque elas não sabem o que é o amor.
Só o amor tem olhos.
Além do amor, tudo é cego."

Super Highway to Nowhere

Eric Francis writes, and quotes Lakota Shaman Lame Deer :

"Where do we think we’re going? Lakota Shaman Lame Deer wrote many years ago that Americans are on 'the road to nowhere — a paved highway which they themselves bulldoze and make smooth so that [humans] can get faster to the big empty hole which they’ll find at the end, waiting to swallow them up.' He may as well have been referring to the “information superhighway,” which is an early term for the internet. It’s definitely starting to feel like a road to nowhere."

John “Lame Deer, Tahca Ushte” Fire, author of Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions.
Only humans have come to a point where they no longer know why they exist. They don’t use their brains, and they have forgotten the secret knowledge of their bodies, their senses, or their dreams. They don’t use the knowledge the spirit has put into every one of them; they are not even aware of this, and so they stumble along blindly on the road to nowhere — a paved highway which they themselves bulldoze and make smooth so that they can get faster to the big empty hole which they’ll find at the end, waiting to swallow them up. It’s a quick comfortable superhighway, but I know where it leads to. I’ve seen it. I’ve been there in my vision, and it makes me shudder to think about it.

Wild World

... feeling a little peculiaarrr...
WHAT'S GOING ON???!!!

Yes, that about sums it up on certain nights... and days... of this wordly ride!

Note: I see from the comments that it was on a recently cancelled, and much bereaved, Netflix program, or from some He Man meme. But, I just hear it on the radio now and then, and it always caught my attention. Finally sat down and youtubed it!

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination

And I realized quickly
When I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of men
For whatever that means

And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar

And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
WHAT'S GOING ON???

And I say, hey-ey-ey-ey Hey-ey-ey
I said Hey! What's going on?
And I say hey-ey-ey-ey Hey-ey-ey
I said HEY!!! WHAT'S GOING ON???
Ooh, ooh, ooh

And I try, oh my God, do I try
I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my God, do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
