"Pongáio" was the name my Aunt Mona gave to a long, green, cool room where we gathered at her home —
replete with comfy chairs, a rocker, sewing machine, sewing goods, beautiful beads, shelves, books, bibelots, photographs, odds'n'ends, mementos of a life, treasures —
a gathering of all the useful & 'useless' things that so make life a pleasure.

Virgo and Chiron

Imagine Chiron's orbit piercing the ego-boundary of Saturn. It plunges into our reality like the comet that it is, often guiding, prodding or stunning us to awareness -- always gently first, then in escalating degrees. Like Virgo and the 6th house, Chiron brings the message be here now. Stand in your true nature. Be who you are. Remember that you are part of nature and cannot escape from it. For those accustomed to living a life of escape and diversion, this is not always a pleasant message, but ultimately it both sets us free, and leaves us free to do what we came to the Earth to do.

Strange Bedfellows (2004 film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Strange Bedfellows is a 2004 Australian film starring Paul Hogan and Michael Caton as heterosexual men who pass themselves off as a homosexual couple in order to get financial benefits from the government. A very similar plot was later used in the American film I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.

We saw the remake Saturday night. I laughed alot: the gags elevated to the riduculous, some excellent.
I do prefer, though, Paul Hogan's original.

New Moon in Virgo

--- StarIQ
Tuesday, September 11, [09h44 aqui; 12:44 GMT]

This New Moon in Virgo is an explosive Solar Eclipse opposed by electric Uranus while assertive Mars and expansive Jupiter form tense right angle squares to the Sun-Moon conjunction. Nerves are easily rattled by surprising events and pressure builds if we try to keep the lid on a situation that is bound to change. This is earthquake energy that will release unresolved tension hidden below the surface.
Volatility in personal matters or worldly events is best met with faith, forgiveness and imagination, as the integrating North Node in Pisces shows that the way to fulfillment is through spirit, not matter.

A Wrinkle in Time

‘Wrinkle in Time’ author L'Engle dies at 88

When I read the title of the article (linked above), I rememebered right off the bat the name of the author, Madeleine — something a bit remarkable nowadays with my memory usually soooo bad.

Together with the name, a flood of girlhood memories, of being immersed in books, and this one of my favorites.

And it's funny, because just the other day, the image of the scientist mother cooking dinner in her lab, much to the dismay of some of her family, came to mind, and I was trying to remember from which book it came...

A Wrinkle in Time hardcover, 1960s (same cover as first edition except for addition of the Newbery Medal)

Oh, my Saturn!

Saturn changed signs over the weekend - your forecast today looks at what that means for your sign - read it, mull it over and see if you can act on it. Saturn is a demanding planet but the rewards he brings for good behaviour last and last.

SAGITTARIUS: WHAT SATURN IN VIRGO MEANS FOR YOU
It's your responsibility to... be a success!
Wherever Saturn goes, lessons follow. Now Saturn is hanging out in your solar work success? zone offering you the chance to define and forge ahead in your working life if you know that you need to. Saturn can bring fear and if he does, he challenges you to rise above that fear. Are there aspects of your public and professional life that have you worried? If that's the case, Saturn's objective is to remind you that it's hard work which brings rewards.
This is a year when you realise that you only need to take one step at a time in order to climb the career ladder. And one where you realise that it's the effort you put into your work which bring the rewards you crave. But don't be duped into working just to maintain a lifestyle. Try and look to your work for professional satisfaction as well as financial rewards. Saturn in this part of your chart can urge you to out do your past efforts to help you get ahead.

The Skies They Are A'Changin'....

The Skies They Are A'Changin'....
There is SO much going on in the skies right now, it's hard to know what to mention first! We are about to go into the eclipse season with the Lunar (Full Moon) Eclipse on Tuesday, followed by the move of Saturn from Leo to Virgo, and then the New Moon (Solar) Eclipse on September 11, if you don't mind.
Of course it will affect everyone differently but it could be summed up by saying that there will be brakes going on and brakes going off in different parts of our lives. Something starting and something ending. A lot of room for change. Stay tuned and ask God and Goddess to help you want the right things for you.
