"Pongáio" was the name my Aunt Mona gave to a long, green, cool room where we gathered at her home —
replete with comfy chairs, a rocker, sewing machine, sewing goods, beautiful beads, shelves, books, bibelots, photographs, odds'n'ends, mementos of a life, treasures —
a gathering of all the useful & 'useless' things that so make life a pleasure.

Eivør Pálsdóttir

Eivør Pálsdóttir, from the Faroe Islands

Loose translation of the lyrics (added 17.05.2017)

 "Spellbound

  Spellbound I am, I am
The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me
Spellbound deep in my soul, in my soul
In my heart burns a sizzling bonfire, a sizzling bonfire

  Spellbound I am, I am
The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me
Spellbound in my heart's root, my heart's root
My eyes gaze spellbound to where the wizard stood"

Perhaps joik, of the Saami people?

Here in a newer official version with lyrics... and more serene, if that be the word.

I do always try to put the source and/or photo credit when I can... something that's geting harder with the multipliation of image sites. Having no luck with trying to find the origin of the photo above (google: "llama pink cottage llama in front thatched roof" ), BUT... I did find this!

Mineiro

This a photo from a pousada — ± bed-and-breakfast, or little hotel — site.
I haven't been there (although, I wish!) but it's so typical of our dream mineiro breakfast or afternoon lanche, that I just had to post it! Quitutes, juices, fruit, bread and a good fogão a lenha.

pousada da terra - tiradentes
Ooops!
This from the web (of course!), but I didn't write down the complete site name, and now I'm not sure from which Pousada it is — the name I had doesn't have this photo on its site! Oh dear!
I have it as a pousada in Tiradentes, MG. As soon as I find the it (I hope!) I'll put the link.
Update: Mystery solved - it's from their Facebook! Here's the link: Pousada da Terra
